Ask Gray: Emails From You

Would it be weird to fight BJ Penn or Tyson Griffin?

Tyson, it would be weird and hopefully we will never have to fight. He’s been a really good teammate and friend; hopefully it won’t ever come down to us fighting. But we both have dreams in this sport and need to make a living. BJ, I respect him and I am very thankful that he helped me in the sport. But he holds the ultimate goal in the sport around his waist. I would definitely have to put our friendship aside to achieve that goal.

Who are the top 155 lb contenders?

In the UFC I think there are numerous guys. Myself, Frank Edgar, Tyson Griffin, Joe Stevenson, Kenny Florian, Nate Diaz, and Diego Sanchez

Who do you respect most in the fight game and why?

I really do respect Randy Couture. I’m always amazed how calm, collected and focused he stays during adversity. Also the pace he’s kept for so long training, fighting and numerous other things. Above all that he’s just a great guy!!

    Gray,

Without giving your gameplan away too much, how do you think your fight with Nate will pan out? He is a tricky bugger ju-jitsu wise with those long legs, have you trained with any partners that have the same style and size?

All the UFC fans that I am in touch with in the UK are in firm belief that the its the Bullies hand to be raised at the end of the night!

Stevenson, Florian, and Sanchez had fought for the title and lost, you beat Edgar and Diaz, and Griffin’s a good tough fighter, but isn’t undefeated! Although Penn was your coach on the TUF Season 5, you still deserve the title shot, and Couture should give you good insight on how to win the belt whether it’s fighting Penn or Edgar again!

Who will win, Michael Bisping or Wanderlei Silva?
